About National Instruments

National Instruments (http://www.ni.com) is a technology pioneer and leader in virtual instrumentation — a revolutionary concept that has changed the way engineers and scientists approach measurement and automation. Leveraging the PC and commercial off-the-shelf technology, virtual instrumentation increases productivity and lowers costs through easy-to-integrate software, such as the NI LabVIEW graphical development environment, and modular hardware, such as PXI modules for data acquisition, modular instruments, and machine vision. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, NI has more than 5,000 employees worldwide, direct operations in more than 40 countries and R&D facilities in U.S, India, China, Romania, Germany, Canada, and Denmark. The company sells to a broad base of more than 30,000 different companies worldwide, with no one customer representing more than 3 percent of revenue and no one industry representing more than 15 percent of revenue. For the past 11 years, FORTUNE magazine has named NI one of the 100 best companies to work for in America.

Career with National Instruments

The R&D facility in India is located in Bangalore. The Indian facility is poised to grow into a software engineering powerhouse contributing to the technology, business, and revenues of National Instruments worldwide. We are looking for top writing talent to fuel our growth.

Technical writers at National Instruments collaborate with an engineering team to develop and improve product documentation. As an NI technical writer, you write technical documentation, collaborate with content experts to develop/enhance documentation content, and work with product managers and engineers to improve the usability of documentation and products.

National Instruments is well known for its promote-from-within philosophy. Thus, as you advance your technical writing career, you have opportunities for many new challenges, including mentoring new technical writers, managing documentation project schedules, developing and improving processes, and serving as a customer advocate.
