Past forward, on the move!

Year 2004 came to a close! On the threshold of the New Year, we are filled with a heady feeling of hope and optimism. We aspire that the New Year will bring in lot more successes to our lives. We have had our highs and lows in the year 2004, but our well-deserved highs dominated. In the past year, we worked together to advance our profession in this part of the world and gained recognition among our counterparts by winning at every front.

We have been witnessing the changes in our activities in different parts of the country. We are trying to organize ourselves better and create more and more opportunities. We can see dramatic changes in every area, be it education, networking, or creation of new and enhanced career opportunities. Future has in store for us only more exciting times for technical communicators in this country.

During our annual conference this year, we heard from most of the leading MNCs about their ambitious plans to set up large documentation divisions in India. We seem to be emerging as the best outsourcing talent available for the world now more than any other times.

The conference participants got an opportunity to learn about the future plans of STC from some of the leading lights of STC in the region, like James Romano , our director-sponsor, and the STC office bearers in India. STC is transforming, assuring you a plethora of development opportunities in the coming years. As a Chapter of Excellence, it is our duty to make us heard at the global level and work with charged up energy to grab all the deserved business, learning, and research opportunities from all over the world. In this New Year, we wish that each one of us feels excited and empowered to contribute to the development of the profession in all the fronts.

At STC India, we take stock of the hits and misses at the end of the year and make plans for the coming year after carefully analyzing the ‘misses’ last year and drafting a roadmap for the coming year. After bringing glory to the chapter and giving a successful and memorable year to us, the administrative and management councils of the chapter for 2004 have transitioned their duties to new panels of energetic leaders. The new leaders of the chapter are chalking out plans for the coming year and re-aligning priorities to take the profession to greater heights. Help them with your thoughts and ideas and help STC serve you better!

We are not in the business of predicting trends, but we surely have it in our hands to write our future based on realities. Good times are ahead. The time has come to break new ground. India is continuously growing in the technological sector and it is our prerogative to think what we can do to make it grow better. Let us rediscover the technical communicators in us and help develop a new breed of communication experts who will lead the technological revolution by adding the ‘c’ factor to it. STC is with you in your path to rediscovery and ultimate success.
