STC's 2005-2006 Newsletter Competition

The STC newsletter competition, for newsletters published between February 1, 2005, and January 31, 2006, rewards excellence in chapter, student chapter, and SIG newsletters that communicate news about and develop interest in the Society for Technical Communication. All communities are encouraged to enter the competition. (Indus will also participate in this competition. Indus had won the Award of Excellence in this competition for three consecutive years - namely, 2003-2004, 2002-2003, and 2001-2002.)

STC’s Training Program

STC's training program, consisting of five two-day courses taught by some of the most respected names in technical communication, provides a unique, in-depth educational opportunity that will help you advance your career. You'll gain new skills, techniques, and hands-on experience that you can use to do your job better. You will have the opportunity to network with other highly motivated professionals. Certificates will be awarded upon completion of the course.

The five two-day courses are described in detail at www.stc.org/training. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity.

STC Salary Survey Online

The results of STC's 2005 Technical Communicator Salary Survey are now available. The survey results feature information about salaries and benefits for STC members in the U.S. and in Canada. The information is broken down by levels of experience, levels of education, gender, and ZIP code/postal code.

The salary survey form was sent to STC members all over the world. If enough members from a country outside of North America filled out the form, salary information about that country is included in the survey results. This year's results include information from Israel and the United Kingdom.

To access the survey results, you'll need to log on to the members-only section of the STC website.
