Awesome Work!

Hello, The Jan-Feb issue of Indus made a great read. I liked the wide sprinkling of features balancing the serious-business aspects of technical communication with the lighter vein. In particular, "Localization (L10N) - The Business Value" and "Roughing it out with Reviewers" struck a chord, since the topics are close to the writer's hearth. "Creating FrameMaker Templates" was another well written piece I'd keep as a handy bookmark. Congratulations to the authors and editors. Do keep up the awesome work! I look forward to reading the next and future editions of Indus.

Regards,

Poornima Padmanabhan

Eye Opener

Hi,

A comment on Localization (L10N) – The Business Value. I never knew that lack of localization so enormously affected business! Thanks for the information: a well-written article.

Thanks,

Savitha

Reading Pleasure

Subtly, Wonderfully, Beautifully Different

Dear Editors,

It was a pleasure reading the INDUS Jan-Feb 2005 issue. Although the issue didn't have a specific topic running through all the articles, each article had something wonderful to offer. I am amazed at how beautifully James V. Romano, Director-Sponsor, STC Region-6 connects up with our country and culture. I also noticed that the style of information flow in this issue is a little different from the previous issues. When you have such subtle differences between issues, it makes it more interesting for the reader. Looking forward to the next issue.

Thanks,

Sanjukta

Review Encounters

Hello,

I enjoyed reading your article, Roughing it Out with Reviewers. Given the diverse types of review experiences, it can be an unpredictable journey depending on the organization and the stakeholders (those individuals who truly care about the documentation). As a former Nortel writer, I recall review meetings that went on for days. Reviewers were practically locked into meeting rooms with the technical writers and asked to comment on every page before the page was signed off. The experience was like an encounter session!
