Bringing ‘technical’ back to writing
As we move around our daily jobs of creating manuals, generating content, playing around with instructions do we forget that technology is an essential part of a technical writer’s arsenal? As attention deficit grows we tend to dumb down our content but are we also purging out the real ‘technical’ information in the process?
Let us talk about how to bring technology back into a technical writer’s world.
Vidhi Kapoor – Vidhi is a Director at Nagarro, leading their Global Marketing Function and working on building a Center of Excellence for Technical Communicators. Through her decade and a half long professional career, she has delved into various language, content and technology focused domains. Her expertise lies in handling multi-lingual, multi-location teams with a clear emphasis on driving technical content strategy and integration of technology based language process improvements in her organization. Her intense passion for languages often takes her back to her language roots and has her struggling with learning the basics of the Urdu alphabet recently.\
Rahul Prabhakar – Rahul Prabhakar worked as a Center of Excellence Head – Technical Writing for Interglobe Technologies. He has over 15 years of work experience and is a leading member of the global technical writing community.
Rahul has worked for some of the world’s leading technology companies such as Samsung, Oracle, etc. He has also been published in leading technology magazines.
Rahul blogs at “When the Muse Strikes!”, where he highlights global challenges related to technical communication along with links to his published work (see http://www.rahulprabhakar.com).
