About the Speakers

Priya is a Commerce Graduate. She has completed GNIIT and a Technical Writing course with S.A. International Ltd. She has 15 years’ experience in IT field. She has worked as a Faculty, Developer, Configuration Engineer and Technical Writer. She has created books, materials and visual aids that can be used by the government schools in Malaysia as an Instructional Designer. She has 12 years’ experience in Telecom domain as Technical Writer. Currently, she is working as the Specialist Writer in Ericsson. She has brought in process improvements in Technical Writing for Ericsson. She is the official trainer for Ericsson Tools and Methods.

Kamal has over 15 years of experience in content creation which includes technical writing, instructional design, and marketing support documents. Besides, Kamal has trained few batches of students on technical writing courses. He is currently based out of Chennai and works as a freelance consultant.

User Experience in Writing

In recent years, understanding the user experience and writing for users is given importance in many big tech players like Google, Amazon, PayPal, etc. There is a need for the work of technical writers to be an integral part of UX design process. user experience addresses and integrates all user-facing aspects of a company. The topic will cover UX basics, benefits of UX design, UX personas, UX tools, UX writing, what a UX writer will do, the principles of writing for users, writing for creating the great user experience, apply UX writing in a daily job, a requirement for the UX writer job.

Improving Productivity in Documentation

Is the impending slowdown real? May be yes, or may be not. Either ways, let us be prepared and prove our mettle. And the best way to do is to enhance our productivity. This session will throw light on the processes and skills that help us to deliver more and with great quality. In addition, we would also do some research on the fancy word that is being bandied about – Automation.
