——————————————————————–
In November 2010, just when the world is still recovering from the Commonwealth Games Experience, technical communicators will converge to celebrate the 12th Annual STC India conference. The most important event of a young profession will be held in an old Indian city, the “City of Djinns” as William Dalrymple calls it.

This is a first by many counts: the first time techcomm people from the northern part of the country do not have to travel to conference; the first time the techcomm people from the south, east, and west of the country get a conference with the zindadili that Dilli is known for; the first time a conference is held at a city that’s arguably India’s best in terms of infrastructure.

This also is the first time – yes – that STC India members do not have to pay registration fees to attend. You heard that right (want me to repeat). And, because STC India believes its volunteers are what define it, this is also the first time all STC India volunteers get to attend the conference without paying registration fees.
