Hi, all,
Since the past couple of years STC India has conducted successful Mentorship Programs, which were appreciated by several participants in the past. Out of popular demand, we bring the program to you again this year.
This program matches mentors to mentees, where the two interact for a scheduled number of hours. The mentor offers advice and help on the mentees’ career goals and aspirations. Our mentors are successful and senior technical communication professionals, who provide wisdom and guidance to emerging technical writers. To help the maximum number of mentees, we are attempting to run the mentorship program twice this year – from March to May and from July to September. You can participate in both the programs, however, preference will be given to new mentees for round 2. We do hope to generate enough interest to have plenty of mentors available throughout the year.
The 2010 program will be driven by Sumedh Nene, a distinguished technical writing professional, based in Mississauga (Toronto), Canada. He has 15 years experience as a technical writer and currently teaches various technical communications modules at the George Brown College in Toronto. Sumedh has been a Mentorship Manager for STC India in the past and is presently the Events Manager for STC Toronto. He was Manager – Technical Publications at Persistent Systems in Pune and taught Technical Communications at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune and Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM), Pune.
Please sign up to the STC mailing list on http://stc-india.org to receive further announcements about this program.
Cheers!
Rajdeep

Am I glad!!!
Best wishes to STC and Sumedh.
I hope to participate in this program. It was my pleasure to meet members of the Bangalore technical writing community in January 2009. I hope that we can continue our professional contacts online.
