The STC India User Research and Usability SIG is pleased to announce a session on ‘Introduction to Usability for Technical Writers’ on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Huawei Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore.

The speaker is Suman Kumar who has been involved with UX design since 2001. Suman currently works for CDC Software, Bangalore as a UX Specialist.

About the Presentation

Suman will be giving a talk about importance of usability principles, and how the usability principles can be applied to technical communication.

Agenda

9: 30 am – 10: 00 am – Registration

10:00 am – 10:45 am – Why should technical writers care about UX? [Talk]

10:45 am – 11:15 am – Tea Break

11:15 am – 12:00 pm – How to perform UX reviews? [Workshop]

Please be present at the venue by 9:45 am (latest) to avoid inconvenience to the speakers and the participants.

All participants (STC and non-STC members can attend the session for FREE). However, registration is MANDATORY. Your participation is confirmed only if you receive a confirmation mail from Rajdeep. March 18 is the last date for registering to the workshop. No requests for participation will be entertained after Thursday.

More about the speaker: Suman has made presentations on design, usability, and allied subjects in various forums, including the World Usability Day meet at the Anna University and STC Conferences.
